Audio Sources & Attribution

Last Updated: September 26, 2026

WildVoices uses animal and wildlife sound recordings to create an educational listening experience for visitors.

Some recordings may come from external platforms and contributors. We believe clear attribution and respect for original creators are important.

Where Our Audio Comes From

Animal sound recordings featured on WildVoices may be obtained from third-party audio libraries and wildlife recording communities.

Freesound

Freesound is a collaborative sound library where users share audio recordings under different licenses.

The license and usage conditions can differ between individual recordings. Visitors should check the original recording page and applicable license before reusing audio.

Individual Recording Licenses

Not every recording available through an external platform has the same license.

Some recordings may allow certain forms of reuse while others may include additional attribution requirements or restrictions.

Visitors should always check the original source page and applicable license before downloading, modifying, publishing, redistributing or commercially using a recording.

Attribution

Where attribution is required by an applicable license, WildVoices aims to provide appropriate source or contributor information.

Attribution may include the contributor's name, original platform, recording page and applicable license information.

Using Audio From WildVoices

The availability of a recording on WildVoices does not automatically grant permission to copy, redistribute, publish, sell or commercially use that recording.

Please check the original source and license before reusing any recording.

Attribution or Licensing Issues

If you are a creator, contributor or copyright owner and believe that a recording has been incorrectly attributed or displayed contrary to its applicable license, please contact us.

Please include the relevant WildVoices page URL, recording information and the original source where available.

Important: The original source page and its current license should be treated as the authoritative reference for individual recording usage conditions.
